British Royal Navy C&S MK IV 2 ½ inch signal rocket discharger. Fired different colored signal rockets with a short friction primer and lanyard. About 6 ½ feet long. The wooden rod on the rocket (looked just like a giant bottle rocket) would slide down the inside of the tubular staff with the head in the trough. A short friction primer would be inserted in the little gated port and the toggle hooked to the pull wire.
