Product Description:
This inert 85mm PG-7V HEAT Training Rocket features a unique rubberized warhead, making it a purpose-built variant for safe field training and launcher handling exercises. Originally designed for use with the RPG-7 anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade launcher, the PG-7V was one of the earliest and most widely deployed high-explosive anti-tank rounds of the Cold War. This training configuration is completely inert and ideal for collectors, military trainers, or museum displays.
Historical Background:
The PG-7V was first introduced in the 1960s by the Soviet Union and became the standard anti-armor warhead for the RPG-7 system. Its shaped charge was capable of penetrating up to 260mm of rolled homogeneous armor (RHA), making it a formidable weapon against tanks and armored vehicles throughout the Cold War and into modern conflicts.
To facilitate safe training, inert variants like this PG-7V were manufactured using a solid rubber or rubber-coated simulated warhead in place of the live explosive HEAT cone. These training rockets allowed soldiers to practice reloading, aiming, and firing drills without the dangers associated with live munitions.
