Description
Inert 57mm Belgian WWI (and prior) shell casing used in the 5.7cm Maxim-Nordenfelt. This 57x224mm casing is made of brass and is in good condition. Markings can be clearly seen. The 5.7cm Maxim-Nordenfelt is a fortress and infantry gun developed during the 1880’s in Britain which was sold to Belgium and later produced under license by the Cockerill Company. It saw action during WWI in both Belgian and German hands.
