The Javelin System & Its Packaging
The FGM-148 Javelin is the U.S. military’s premier man-portable fire-and-forget anti-tank guided missile. Adopted in the 1990s, it uses an imaging infrared seeker and a tandem HEAT warhead to defeat modern tanks in top-attack or direct-attack modes. It has seen extensive combat use in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. In service, each missile comes sealed in a dedicated Launch Tube Assembly (LTA), and those launch tubes are in turn shipped and stored inside rugged shipping and storage containers like this one to protect them from impact, environmental damage, and long-term storage stresses.
