Product Description:
Inert 40mm OG-7 High-Explosive Anti-Personnel Rocket, originally designed for use with the RPG-7 launcher system. This completely inert example features a warhead body, dummy fuze and fin section. Making it safe for display, training, or historical collection purposes.
The OG-7 (ОГ-7) was developed by the Soviet Union as a dedicated anti-personnel fragmentation warhead for use in situations where a shaped charge was unnecessary. Unlike the standard PG-series HEAT rounds, the OG-7 does not feature a conical charge or armor penetration capability. Instead, its steel body is engineered to fragment upon detonation, sending lethal high-velocity shards across a wide area, making it highly effective against exposed infantry and light cover.
Historical Background:
Introduced in the 1970s and used extensively throughout Eastern Bloc and Middle Eastern conflicts, the OG-7 warhead expanded the RPG-7’s battlefield versatility beyond armored threats. Its cost-effective, simple design allowed widespread production and deployment across Soviet-aligned militaries. The OG-7 continues to appear in modern conflict zones where the RPG-7 platform remains in use.
