Showcase the cutting edge of modern armor-penetrating technology—without any of the hazards of live ordnance. This inert, newly manufactured 25mm M919 Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot Tracer (APFSDS-T) penetrator is CNC-machined from stainless steel and features a removable fin assembly, faithfully capturing the long-rod dart profile of the service M919 round in a safe, display-only form.

The last three product photos show this stainless-steel penetrator side-by-side with an original M919 penetrator, so you can see how closely the geometry and proportions match.

The Bradley’s Premier Anti-Armor “Super Sabot”

The 25×137mm M919 APFSDS-T cartridge was developed to give the M242 Bushmaster chain gun—mounted on the M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, LAV-25, and other 25mm platforms—a significantly more lethal anti-armor capability than earlier 25mm APDS rounds. In U.S. Army service, the M919 replaced the M791 APDS-T as the primary armor-piercing service round.

The live M919 projectile uses a high-velocity, fin-stabilized depleted-uranium (DU) long-rod penetrator enclosed in a sabot that discards after leaving the barrel. Traveling at extremely high muzzle velocity, the dart defeats armor purely through kinetic energy, optimized to penetrate and destroy BMP-class infantry fighting vehicles, light armor, and self-propelled guns on the modern battlefield.

Your Piece – Stainless, Inert, and Finely Detailed

This product is a new-made penetrator, inspired by the profile of the M919 long-rod dart but constructed for display and educational use only:

  • Material: Stainless steel
  • Configuration:
    • Realistic long-rod penetrator
    • Removable fin section to showcase construction
  • Functionality:
    • no tracer compound
    • No sabot, no cartridge case, no propellant
    • Cannot be chambered, fired, or converted into live ammunition

The removable fin is a standout feature for collectors and educators—it lets you display the dart assembled, or disassembled to emphasize how a fin-stabilized long-rod penetrator is built.

The last three images in the listing show this stainless-steel penetrator next to an original M919 penetrator (not included), illustrating how closely this inert piece matches the live-service geometry.

Historical & Reference Data (Live M919 Cartridge)

For researchers and serious collectors who track catalog identifiers, the live 25mm M919 APFSDS-T cartridge is commonly listed as:

  • NSN: 1305-01-304-9977 – CARTRIDGE, 25MM APFSDS-T, M919
  • NIIN: 013049977
  • DODIC: A986 (DODAC 1305-A986)

These values apply to complete, live-service 25mm cartridges, not to this newly-made stainless penetrator. They are provided solely for historical and identification reference

Ideal For

  • Bradley and LAV-25 vehicle displays need a visually accurate representation of the M919 dart
  • Museum exhibits that explain APFSDS technology, armor evolution, and modern KE (kinetic energy) penetrators
  • Advanced ordnance collections where owning actual components is impractical
  • Desk, office, or shop displays as a striking conversation piece: the “super sabot” dart behind modern IFV firepower

This inert stainless-steel 25mm M919 APFSDS-T penetrator with removable fin delivers the look, proportions, and mechanical interest of the Bradley’s premier anti-armor round.
