Original U.S. Air Force Surplus – Cold War Era Aircraft Armament Component
Available now is a new old stock (NOS) side cartridge ejection chute for the 20mm M39 revolver cannon, an essential component of Cold War-era U.S. fighter aircraft armament systems. This genuine U.S. military part is preserved in good condition and is cataloged under FSN 1005-525-7371, NSN 1005-00-525-7371, and Part Number 8410531-D.
Designed to manage the ejection of spent cartridge casings from the M39 cannon, this side chute was typically mounted on the M39 cannon, helping guide brass safely away from the aircraft’s systems and controls during high-speed aerial engagements.
The M39 20mm revolver cannon was developed after World War II and became a mainstay in American jet aircraft throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Based on the German Mauser MK 213 design, the M39 was adapted for high-performance aircraft such as the F-5 Freedom Fighter, F-86 Sabre, and other early Cold War U.S. Air Force platforms.
Capable of firing up to 1,500 rounds per minute, the M39 required a robust and efficient ejection system to prevent malfunctions and protect onboard systems. The 8410531-D side ejection chute played a critical role in ensuring that casings were directed out of the aircraft cleanly, reducing the risk of backpressure, ricochet, or interference with avionics or airframe components.
Preserve the legacy of Cold War American aviation with this NOS M39 Side Cartridge Ejection Chute—an increasingly rare and highly specific component tied to one of the most widely fielded 20mm aircraft cannons of its era.
