Authentic M151 "10-Pounder" Profile – Inert and Solid
The M151 High Explosive warhead is the best-known unitary warhead in the Hydra 70 family, often called the "10-pounder" for its approximate warhead weight. Designed as a general-purpose high-explosive fragmentation warhead, it delivers a burst radius of about 10 meters and a lethal fragmentation radius of roughly 50 meters when live, making it a staple for anti-personnel and materiel targets.
Your display warhead starts life as a genuine 2.75" WTU-1/B practice warhead—an inert slug warhead manufactured with the same external shape, weight, and center of gravity as the standard M151 HE warhead, specifically for training and system testing. It is produced without a fuze and without any explosive filler, simulating the flight and trajectory characteristics of the live M151 while remaining completely inert.
On this piece, the WTU-1/B has been stripped, prepped, and repainted to visually represent a service M151 High Explosive warhead, giving you an extremely accurate profile and presence for your collection or restoration project—while still being a solid, non-functional display item.
Note: The warhead is solid and inert. No fuze cavity, no explosive filler, and no energetic components.

The M151 and WTU-1/B belong to the long-running 2.75" Folding-Fin Aerial Rocket (FFAR) / Hydra 70 lineage, originally developed in the late 1940s and refined into today's Hydra 70 system. These rockets have been employed from a wide range of U.S. and allied aircraft, including:
