INERT 30mm PGU-15 Target Practice (TP) Round for use in the GAU-8 Avenger cannon, which is used aboard the A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog" jet aircraft. The A-10 is used in fixed-wing close-air support, forward air control, and ground-attack aircraft missions. The later "tank-killing" role is its most effective use. The entire airframe was built around the rotary "Gatling gun" type cannon that fires this round. The Avenger cannon is one of the most effective aircraft cannons ever developed, which consequently makes the A10 one of the most important enemy-killing tools in the US Air Force's arsenal. The cannon fires these rounds at the stunning rate of 4,200 rounds per minute.......which is 70 rounds per second. It makes for a very impressive display piece in your collection, gun store, the firing range, or the man cave! It's worth mentioning that the GAU-8 cannon is also used in the "Goalkeeper" Close-In Weapon System to destroy incoming threats to naval ships. The case and projectile are generally in good condition. The projectile is 100% inert.
