New Old Stock U.S. Military Surplus – Genuine Replacement Base for M109 Self-Propelled Howitzer Rammer Tray Assembly
Offered for sale is a New Old Stock 155mm M109 Rammer Tray Base, part number 10922583, cataloged under NSN 1025-00-973-2869 and NSN 1025-00-312-5122. This genuine U.S. military surplus component is part of the loading system for the M109 self-propelled howitzer, one of the most enduring and widely deployed artillery platforms in U.S. and allied service history.
The rammer tray base is an integral part of the mechanical loading assist system on the M109-series howitzers. It serves as the stable mounting point for the rammer tray, which guides and supports the 155mm projectile as it is seated into the chamber prior to firing. Precise alignment and secure functioning of this part are critical to maintaining operational tempo and minimizing misalignment or delay during combat operations.
The M109 155mm Self-Propelled Howitzer entered service in the early 1960s and has remained in continuous use for over six decades, including in Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and numerous allied conflicts. The system’s ability to deliver sustained, accurate firepower from a mobile, tracked chassis made it the backbone of U.S. divisional artillery.
The rammer tray and base components were designed to handle high rates of fire under battlefield stress while reducing crew fatigue and enhancing loading speed. Spare and replacement components like this base are increasingly rare in unissued condition, particularly from earlier M109 variants.
This is a hard-to-find OEM component perfect for military vehicle restoration or as a collectible artifact from one of the most successful artillery platforms in history. Once our limited supply is gone, sourcing NOS examples like this will become increasingly difficult.
